Ingredients in Diet Bites' Low Calorie, Low Fat Cajun Rice - The Basic Recipe
1 extra lean sausage link - Note: We highly recommend the Bistro Sensations sausages which contain a scant 130 calories for most links.
These are made with lean cuts of chicken thus contributing to the lower fat and calorie count. We are hooked on the gouda cheese and chopped apples variety. (130 calories)
1 cup of cooked white rice (instant or regular - 200 calories)
Chopped Sun-Dried Tomatoes
To prepare our low calorie, low fat Cajun Rice recipe begin by slicing the sausage link into tiny rounds. Transfer to the stove top to a pan that has been sprayed with a bit of cooking spray to prevent sticking. Cook until golden brown - about 3 - 5 minutes. Add the chopped sun-dried tomatoes. Add cooked rice. Transfer to a serving plate.

- Rather than using cooked white rice, opt for Spanish Rice for that extra kick in the Diet Pants.
- Add a bit of chopped onions to the pan as the sausage cooks.
- Toss a few herbs into the mix such as basil or rosemary.
