Remove all excess skin and fat from chicken before cooking. Chicken fat contains 100% fat and 100% cholesterol. Cooking with chicken fat is just shy of cooking with lard - lethal to any diet.
Make your own low calorie 3 bean salad: 1 can of green beans, 1 can of kidney beans (drained), 1 can of waxed beans plus 1 cup of vinegar, diced onions, diced bell pepper, dash of celery seeds and several packets of Splenda. Seal.
Lardless Beans - Manufacturers generally use lard to make refried beans - generally considered the most lethal cooking fat to the daily diet due to its saturating powers.
Make your own 'lardless ones' by whipping up cooked pinto beans and adding 1 Tablespoon of chili powder and 1/2 teaspoon of cumin to each 1 cup of beans. Salt and pepper to suit personal taste. Picante sauce adds extra zip.
Weather permitting, realize your own limitations and then, recognize those limitations. If you've been inactive these last few weeks or months, you'll need to take it slow in the beginning. Traction isn't pretty.
Make your first outing short and limited. Slowly build from there. To accelerate your capabilities, try a couple of short outings in one day with the time spaced between the activities (if possible). For example, go bowling early in the day, then take a half-mile walk or hike that evening. It's really outrageous to set a beginning goal of say....walking 5 miles three times per week.
