The 'Weighs' With Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a very popular fellow in the Diet World. So big, yet so little in calories - a perfect specimen to cozy up to on those long winter, spring, summer and fall nights of dieting.

The dieter can feel free to snuggle close - bathing in the stream of healthy Vitamin C.

This big Citrus Boy is just begging to be used - but not just as a stand alone while dieting.  Here are a few more ways to bring about a decrease on the weight scales involving the tasty grapefruit:

Quick Citrus Fruit Salad Recipe

Scoop out the fruit and pulp of 1/2 a grapefruit then fill with a mix of the following: seeded, cubed grapefruit, cubed pineapple, pitted cherries, grated coconut and golden raisins that have mixed with a bit of orange juice. Add a serving or two of your favorite coffee creamer that will compliment the fruit and stir to coat the fruit.

Honey Grapefruit Recipe

Cut grapefruit in half, then carefully separate sections with a paring knife. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon then place beneath broiler until golden brown. Serve warm with a bit of Splenda sprinkled on top OR a dash of honey.

Immunity Boosting Natural Snack

Squeeze out a cup of fresh grapefruit for an 'anytime' lift.

Diet Salad Recipe Using Grapefruit

Toss together the following mix for a dynamite diet salad: 1/2 cup of seeded grapefruit sections, 1/2 cup of pineapple cubes, 2 cups of baby spinach, 1 Tablespoon of golden raisins and 1 teaspoon of slivered almonds.  Drizzle with Ken's Walnut Raspberry Salad Dressing.

Grapefruit Diets

Grapefruit Diets abound and promise grand fat loss results. However, they are not a healthy mode for losing pounds nor do they promote healthy eating going forward.

Most contain minimal to no fat, no sugar, no white bread, no favorite foods, no relaxation and no nothing equals NO DIET.

Going on a no-nothing diet can leave an individual weighing in heavier after the dieting process than they were before the diet. Here are a few reasons why:

- Starvation diets slow down rather than stimulate the metabolism.

- No-nothing diets lead to diet boredom in a flash creating a perfect situation for a binge explosion.

- No-nothing diets do not provide a healthy eating pattern for the dieter. Even when weight is lost, the dieter is left unprepared during that all-important post diet phase when weight maintenance becomes key.

- No-nothing diets come and no-nothing diets go & while at times it's difficult not to get caught up in the waves of a popular fad diet, permanent weight loss success depends upon what we put inside our bodies forever and today.
