Groovy Exercise Tips

Activity may not be the key to happiness but it can sure make a body feel good - even if it feels miserable while doing it. Wait! Feeling miserable while exercising is a no-no.  When misery overtakes goodness, the climax is generally a cliffhanger leaving us poised on the edge of our seats as we ask, "Will Activity win or lose out to misery, boredom and yes, pain?"

Taking a couple of Ibuprofen before darting out to exercise may reduce soreness.

Cherry juice has been shown in studies to exhibit powerful anti-inflammatory effects on the body and may prove beneficial for arthritis and gout.  Tart cherry juice worked well in reducing pain.  Try drinking 1 glass of tart (not sweet) cherry juice before heading out for your exercise and activity routine.

Stretching before and after exercise may help cut risks for torn ligaments and muscular issues.

Make sure that you're dressed comfortably from head to toe.  If the tootsies are feeling terrific, you'll miss seeing that beautiful cardinal dressed in black and white as you walk by because you'll be looking down at your aching feet instead.

A set of ankle weights will render more impressive results.  And you'll feel like you've lost weight after you remove them. What a perk!

When taking your pet along, don't forget the doggie bags.  Yes, THOSE doggie bags.  Remember, 'A happy neighbor is a friendly neighbor.'

Start out slow and build, particularly during the hot and/or humid times of year.
