Choosing the Perfect Diet Plan

Written by Diet Bites

So many pre-dieters make the mistake of seizing the first diet that they come in contact with - and that generally equates to a fad diet.  Although we don't want to whip a rocking horse to death, fad diets don't tend to be fab diets.  However, many fad diets are indeed fun - especially at the beginning.

They may come with a kicky kit that contains tests, puzzles and multiple choice questions and based upon what the dieter answers, they choose the tier of the plan that best mirrors their needs or personalities, and in some events, even their horoscope.

But whether you're Type A Dieter or Type B, or whether you're Type A Personality Dieter or Type B Personality Dieter, remember back to the time when you were a little kid and your mother's voice rang out day and night, "Now Charles, never trust strangers," and, "If your friend decided to jump off a cliff would you jump too?"

In the diet world, those sayings translate to, "Now Charlie, get to know your diet before you hop into bed with it," and, "If your friend decided to jump on a fad diet, would you jump too?"

The point is this:  Take time to review several weight loss plans/programs before grabbing onto one.  Take time to meet with your doctor and discuss your plan of action, as well as to get approval.

Diets come.  Diets go.  Good health should be here to stay, and it can be by simply taking time to choose a healthy, effective weight loss plan that will leave you in better shape after the weight is gone rather than thin, but in poorer health.

Diet Buddy Talk

When searching for a weight loss buddy or partner - whether it's online or off, you'll want to make certain that the individual feels as passionate about losing weight as you do.  Imagine getting half-way through your weight loss goals then your weight loss buddy suddenly goes awol.

Another tricky area that you'll want to cover is compatibility.  If this sounds a bit like a romantic partnership - it is, only in this partnership, the desire for weight loss is shared rather than the desire for intimacy.

Do you click with one another?

Do you both have the same ideals regarding weight loss?

Are you both following the same weight loss plan?

These are just a few questions that you'll want to discuss before officially pronouncing yourselves Diet Buddy & Diet Buddy.

Even if your responses and ideas do not mirror one another, Diet Buddy's can prove invaluable when it comes to Weight Loss Motivation. However, if one Diet Buddy is on a carb diet and another Diet Buddy is counting calories, they may achieve a stronger union with like-dieters.  A carb dieter will find it difficult to discuss carb dieting issues with a calorie-counting Diet Buddy.

Once you have a Diet Buddy, be sure to meet at least once each day - whether it's by phone, in person or by email.  Keeping touch with your Diet Buddy helps keep you in touch with weight loss.
