Snack Suggestions: 1 cup of blackberries, raspberries or blueberries and 2 cups of strawberries.

We like to keep frozen fruit in our freezer because it's readily available and significantly low in calories - and yeah, it's mighty healthy too, pardner!

If the fruit is still frozen, it requires quite a lot of time to eat, making it last longer - and it's so refreshing on those hot Texas days.

Breakfast - 1 protein, 2 grains, 1 fat

1 scrambled egg  

Also enjoy 2 pieces of whole grain toast. (70 calories each)

1 pat of reduced fat margarine

Lunch - 1 protein, 1 dairy, 2 grains, 2 vegetables

Ham & Cheese Sandwich Recipe

-3 ounces of lean deli ham

-1 slice of mozzarella cheese (60 calories)

-1 Tablespoon of light Mayo

-1/2 cup of lettuce OR raw spinach

-sliced tomato

-2 whole grain breads (70 calories each)

Add 1 package of baked potato chips  

Dinner - 2 grains, 3 vegetables, 2 protein

1 Homemade Hamburger, Our Recipe

-3 ounces of extra-lean hamburger, grilled, baked or pan-fried, salted & peppered




-whole grain bun (160 calories)

-1 Tablespoon of light Mayo OR use mustard to save calories (we based the calories on Mayo)

1/2 cup of baked beans (allow 110 calories)

Diet Evening Shake - Choose any recipe you like. Diet Menu 30

1 dairy, 1 fruit
