Snack Suggestions: 2 cups of tropical fruit such as pineapple, mango, papaya or kiwi.

Breakfast - 2 grains, 1 dairy, 1 protein, 1 fat

2 slices of whole grain bread (70 calories per slice)

1 slice of 60-calorie mozzarella cheese

2 strips of lean bacon, prepared and well drained (70 calories allowed)

1 pat of reduced fat margarine

Butter both slices of bread and toast, placing cheese and bacon in between to create a breakfast bacon 'n cheese sandwich.

Lunch - 1 protein, 2 vegetables, 2 grains, 1 fat

1 cup of beef stew (allow 200 calories)

1/2 cup of white rice, cooked (allow 120 calories)

1 cup of carrots, cooked (sprinkle with cinnamon & Splenda if desired)

1 slice of whole grain bread (70 calories)

1 pat of reduced fat margarine  

Dinner - 2 proteins, 3 grains, 1 vegetable, 2 fat (peanut butter, Mayo)

Chicken Salad Sandwich

Mix the following and serve between two slices of whole grain bread (70 calories per slice):

1/2 small can of drained chicken (white meat), 1 cup of chopped lettuce, salt, pepper and 1 Tablespoon of light Mayo.

Also enjoy 1 rice cake OR popcorn cake smeared with a teaspoon of peanut butter (smooth or crunchy).
