Snack Suggestions: 1 cup of blueberries and 1 cup of tropical fruit such as mango or pineapple.
In addition, if you enjoy lemonade or limeade, you can also enjoy it while you are dieting. The squeeze of citrus fruit adds tons of immunity-boosting Vitamin C properties to your eating plan and when you're dieting you're at a higher risk for getting ill.
Add minimal amounts of white granulated table sugar to your lemon or limeade OR you can use a bit of natural sugar substitute if you wish.
Breakfast - 2 grains, 1 dairy, 1 protein, 1 fat
1 large bagel (250 calories) spread with one of the following OR an equal combination: 1 pat of reduced fat margarine, 1 serving of jam/preserves/jelly, 1 Tablespoon of cream cheese.
Also enjoy 1 boiled egg.
Lunch - 4 vegetables, 2 dairy, 3 grains, 1 protein
Sailor Moon Sandwich Recipe
1/2 cup of raw spinach, 1/4 cup of sliced mushrooms, tomato slices, mozzarella cheese (60 calories), and 3 slices of thin-sliced lean deli meat between two slices of whole grain bread (70 calories per slice). Spread with either LIGHT Mayo or mustard. Enjoy with croutons (low fat 30 calories per serving or enjoy 30 calories of the regular version).
1 carrot OR 10 baby carrots
1 cup of skim milk
Dinner - 3 grain, 3 vegetables
Pasta Meal Plate & Salad
1 cup of your favorite pasta
100 calories worth of your favorite pasta sauce (canned, homemade, white or red)
1 side salad consisting of 2 cups of shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, 1 small cucumber served with light salad dressing (50 calories) and croutons.
1 slice of whole grain bread OR a breadstick (allow 70 calories)
If you wish, you can switch out the pasta meal and enjoy two slices of your favorite pizza with the thin crust.
