Snack Suggestions: You'll need to add two fresh fruit selections to your diet during the day - or enjoy them with your lunch and dinner meals as desserts.
Breakfast - 3 grains, 1 dairy, 1 fat
1 serving of box cereal with skim milk (allow 200 calories)
2 slices of whole grain bread, toasted (no more than 70 calories each)
1 pat of reduced fat margarine
Lunch - 1 grain, 1 protein, 3 vegetables
Subway Restaurant: Enjoy a 6-inch roast beef or ham or turkey/ham sandwich PLUS Lay’s Baked Potato Chips. Be sure to load up on the vegetables - at least on three.
Dinner - 3 grains, 3 vegetables, 1 protein
Money Bags Recipe
You will need the following for this recipe:
- 1 cup of shredded cabbage
- 1 shredded small carrot
- 1/4 diced onion
- 1 Tablespoon of stir fry sauce
- 1/4 cup of shredded chicken, lean only, cooked
- 8 wonton wrappers (160 calories allowed)
- cooking spray
Using cooking spray, saute cabbage, carrot, onion, chicken and sauce until onion clarifies. Remove and spoon mixture into the center of all 8 wrappers. Bring up all 4 edges of the wonton wrapper to form a tiny bag, then press to seal. A bit of water on the fingertip will make this step a breeze.
Using cooking spray, 'fry' until golden brown on low heat.
Enjoy with 1/2 cup of white rice + 1 pat of reduced fat margarine.
