Enjoy the following snacks throughout your day: 1 apple and 1 cup of chopped natural fruit of your choice.
Breakfast - 2 grains, 1 dairy, 1 protein, 1 fat
2 slices of whole grain bread (70 calories per slice)
1 slice of 60-calorie mozzarella cheese
2 strips of lean bacon, prepared and well drained (70 calories)
1 pat of reduced fat margarine
Butter both slices of bread and toast, placing cheese and bacon in between to create a breakfast bacon 'n cheese sandwich.
Lunch - 1 protein, 1 dairy, 2 vegetables, 2 grains
Roast Beef Sandwich Recipe:
- 3 ounces of lean roast beef
- 1 slice of cheese (allowed 70 calories)
- raw spinach OR lettuce
- tomato slices
- whole grain bread - 2 slices, 70 calories each
Assemble and enjoy with 1 low-fat yogurt (110 calories).
Also enjoy 1 small plate of assorted raw veggies from the following choices: baby carrots, radishes, cucumber, broccoli trees, mushrooms. Use yogurt as a low fat, tasty dip.
Dinner - 1 protein, 1 vegetable, 3 grains, 1 fat
Chicken Pot Pie
A prepackaged chicken pot pie totaling no more than 375 calories + 1 slice of whole grain bread (70 calories) + 1 pat of reduced fat margarine.
