Remember to enjoy diet-friendly
beverages. Our first diet menu contains a tab more
calories for dinner as the first day of dieting can
be taxing. Total calories - about 1,500. We have also
totaled up the nutritional information below, ensuring
that all food group daily minimum recommendations have
been satisfied.
Diet Menu #1
Snacks - Our weight
loss program allows for 2 snacks per day. Snack time
is up to you. Choose two fruits from this list. Try
to aim for about 60 calories or less per snack time
OR simply make sure that your two snacks total about
125 calories for the day.
Breakfast - 2 grains, 1 fat
1 package of instant oatmeal* any flavor (150 calories)
1 slice of whole grain toast (70 calories)
1 Tablespoon of favorite jam/preserves/jelly/apple
butter (60 calories)
1 pat of butter
*Tip: to prepare at work, use a deep coffee
cup filled with heated water.
Snack - 1 fruit
Lunch - 4 vegetables, 2 dairy,
3 grains, 1 protein
Sailor Moon Sandwich: 1/2 cup of raw spinach, 1/4
cup of sliced mushrooms, tomato slices, mozzarella cheese
(60 calories), and 3 slices of thin-sliced lean deli
meat between two slices of whole grain bread (70 calories
per slice). Spread with either LIGHT Mayo or mustard.
Enjoy with croutons (low fat 30 calories per serving
or enjoy 30 calories of the regular version).
1 carrot OR 10 baby carrots
1 cup of skim milk
Snack - 1 fruit
Dinner - 1 protein, 3 vegetables,
1 grain, 2 fat
1 small chicken breast, skin removed - baked, roasted,
grilled or pan-cooked with cooking spray
1 SMALL baked potato, salt, pepper
1 pat of butter
2 cups of chopped lettuce, 5 cherry tomatoes, 1/2
sliced cucumber with favorite dressing (allow 50 calories
for the dressing)
1 slice of whole grain bread (70 calories)
Diet Evening Shake
- Choose any recipe you like.
