Why Lose Weight?

Okay, so you've put on a few measly pounds that require a bit of dieting in order to pull off.  The problem is, you are totally satisfied with the situation.  You enjoy being able to enjoy what you enjoy eating, so why all the fuss about losing weight?

Although you're not too concerned about the weight, why is your family doctor pulling hair out of her already bald scalp over it?  After all, it's not her problem.  Or....is it?  If you simply need a reason to back the 'why I need to lose weight' issue, this may help.....

A doctor told me that it was much more difficult to operate on an overweight person than a thin person.  Vacations are generally planned, but rarely do we plan to have surgery due to an accident.

The reason why your family doctor may be concerned about your weight is due to potential health risks.  But you might say, "Even thin people still have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart problems and cancer."  True, but a healthy weight reduces health risks.  If the thin people who are experiencing these issues were at an unhealthy weight, just imagine the effect that the additional weight may pose on their current health matters.

Everyone is born with a unique skeletal frame that holds a specific amount of weight.  Too much additional weight stresses out the frame and increases risk for bone disorders, including fractures.

Eating the foods and drinking the beverages that you enjoy is an important part of the overall feel-good of life, but when done in excess, it simply makes a body feel a bit off-kelter.  The bigger the excess, the bigger off-kelter effect on the body.  The body may experience any of the following symptoms due to excess eating and drinking: sluggishness, tiredness, mental fog, excessive trips to the restroom, difficultly in breathing, excessive sweating, a feeling of discomfort when dressing - unless clothing is loosely fit (belts, ties, sashes, hose, fitted pants, fitted shirts, fitted suits, etc.).

Although a list as long as Florida could be compiled as to the good reasons regarding 'why one should lose weight', the best reason is to lose weight because you want to FOR YOU.  Losing weight ensures a healthier body that comes with lower health risks, and increases longevity.  And you're certainly worth that!
