Tarzan was sleek, agile, trim, muscular and hunky all in one wad.
How did he accomplish such when the only available food in the jungle appeared to be monkey? Oh, and ostrich eggs. His Jane could whip up a mighty mean ostrich egg.
Here are a few of Tarzan's well-guarded diet secrets:
Tarzan was active. He had more muscle than fat and it takes more calories to support muscle than to support fat, thus Tarzan could eat more.
Tarzan never ate more calories than he burned each day. In addition, he always burned a lot of energy as it was very hard work - running after elephants, playing with Boy and 'clubbing' with Jane.
He also did a lot of swinging, typically on vines or available non-poisonous snakes.
He watched the amount of fat in his diet along with the amount of cholesterol and other fatty acids. Of course, that's why Jane always fed those ostrich eggs to the uninvited jungle guests. It was a great way to get rid of them and all that cholesterol mined within had the odds of 'massive coronary on their side. It's not fun when people stay with you for more than three days...
He enjoyed a content lifestyle - that is, whenever the natives weren't on a rampage. Enjoying a stress free - or as close to that as one can get - lifestyle helps in keeping fit and healthy.
He avoided fried foods. First of all, they tended to smell up the elevated grass hut - and second of all, Jane didn't appreciate the clean-up.
He ate a lot of fish - and you thought I was going to say monkey, didn't you? He also ate a lot of fruit, including fresh coconuts.
Tarzan kept away from Diet JuJu, such as sweet cinnamon rolls, donuts, cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, muffins, scones, puddings and jelly beans.
Tarzan's mate, Jane, was also active in watching her figure which helped Tarzan keep a close eye on his own health.
He was happy which is like keeping the level of stress out of your life. A content being is a healthier and happier being.
No matter how we go about things, all of the above tips tend to work their way into the daily lives of the individuals who strive to be as healthy as they can possibly be.
And let's face facts; the only medical attention in the jungle was the local witch doctor - who was so frightening looking that he'd scare the illness out of almost anyone. Therefore, all the more reason to grab onto good health.....
