Starvation Equals Slow Weight Loss

Starvation Diets Doomed From the Start

Simply viewed, it would appear that removing food from the diet would equal fast weight loss.

However, starvation works in shutting down the metabolism, thus stalling Quick Weight Loss, as well as on Healthy and Safe Weight Loss.

When the body enters into Starvation Mode, our metabolism slows down in an effort to conserve energy, thus calories are burned at a much slower rate.

It's nature's safety net.

Example: Jane is out in the jungle without food and water.  She has been roaming through the tawdry jungle for 2 days now and feels close to exhaustion.

Jane's body has smartly slowed down internally, working to conserve precious energy until Tarzan can save the day.

Boosting Metabolic Rate Tips

In fact, eating more frequently throughout the day can actually boost your metabolism so that it operates in warp-speed.

The key is to eat foods that are low in calories, low in fat, and to keep your food intake at a controlled level.

Foods Low in Calories Which Can Boost Metabolic Rate

Some great snacks to help boost your metabolism include:

Hot air popped popcorn, fresh fruit, raw vegetables, sugar free gelatin;

Low fat yogurt, an ounce of cheese;

Peanut butter on crackers (watch the amount of peanut butter that you smear on your crackers);

Dried fruit, jerky, bouillon, low fat soup, small salad with light dressing;

Fruit rolls, slice of toast with no calorie butter spray, a dash of cinnamon and a spoon or two of Splenda;

Fruit juice, a glass of skim or low fat  milk whirled with 3 frozen strawberries;
