Almost a decade ago, I dumped over 100 pounds and since that time, I've not only maintained my weight, but I've dedicated my life to helping others win the Weight Loss Battle - SAFELY. Although it took about a year to ditch all that unwanted weight, I went about it in all the wrong ways. I'm very lucky to be alive. For example, in March of the year of 'THE Diet' I fasted during most of that month while exercising full steam. The way that I went about losing my weight wasn't Diet Smart. I wanted the weight off once and for all - QUICKLY, and I was making my body pay BIG TIME for all the 'glutting, bingeing, gorging, and food-fondling' that I'd enjoyed over a span of about fifteen years.
My hair started falling out like a scared cat's; my chest fluttered and jerked quite a bit, and I felt as though I was in a thick fog during most of that time. My teeth, nails and skin were visible examples of what my unhealthy diet had borne. Towards the end of my diet, I began to get Diet Savvy. I was determined that I was never going to get fat again - that I liked what I saw in the mirror. I decided that I liked being in control - not my cravings, not my tummy. I began to fall back to the nutrition courses that I had taken in college, and I began to seek foods that were high in nutrition, low in fat, and which provided satiety so that I would feel satisfied while remaining trim.
