10 Sources of Weight Gain | Bean Counters, Successful Dieters | Belly Dancing for Weight Loss | Returning Your Body to its Natural State Weight Control - Why Can't I Have 10 Oranges?Written by Diet Bites Even healthy, low calorie foods may contribute to weight gain and put a burr in your Diet Saddle. Hold on tight!
I remember several years ago when my father was battling his weight in an effort to control his diabetes. He once asked his doctor if he could eat 10 oranges a day. Now keep in mind, my father was a fairly smart, civilized man - but a man controlled by his food rather than a man who controlled his food. Of course, the doctor just stood there marveling at my father's ridiculous diet question, but the truth of the matter is that many people just don't where to begin when it comes to dieting. My dear old dad was one of those people. He tried everything to lose weight quickly - as fast as he could. He tried some dieting products that are now long gone such as AIDS - a type of dieting candy that tasted like chocolate. My brother and I used to beg him for pieces of the candy when we were small. Then he tried the Cabbage Diet where he ate nothing but cabbage. Then there was the stinky vinegar diet. And then, he tried a diet beverage called SEGO. Nothing worked permanently. Oh, he did lose weight - a lot of weight many times when he dieted, over and over and over again. But nothing was permanent.
Why? Because my father climbed right back in bed with his former way of Diet Life when his diet ended. Although he could pull of the weight quickly, he just couldn't keep it off because he didn't know how to manage his meals. Even when he did his best to eat only those healthy foods, he couldn't keep the weight off. One reason was his hidden diabetes. The other was a lack of knowledge - something that I, too battled with until I got things right and learned how, what and when to eat correctly to keep off unwanted pounds. You can do that too and we hope that you'll find several of the keys to weight loss success embedded within Diet Bites. As a note, healthy foods cause weight gain whenever the body has reached its calorie (energy/food intake) requirement for the day. Any calories that are consumed after that balancing point are stored in the fat cells for later use. Even those calories from the healthiest of foods such as carrots, cucumbers and onions. Ah! Just look at you! You've just discovered one of the very important keys to weight loss. Go tiger!
