Dieting - Dick's Weight Loss Problem

Dick had been on a diet for six months, losing a total of fifty-eight pounds. He had promised himself that he wouldn't bother with a new wardrobe until he reached his weight loss goal of seventy pounds. 

Only twenty-two more pounds to go! 

But Dick had a problem, and it wasn't his weight.  When he tightened his belt, he looked like he was wearing a gathered skirt rather than a pair of pants.  He had been hiding 'the look' by wearing a suit jacket to work, but his bagginess was to a point where he could see a need to buy a few items of clothing until he reached his final goal weight. 

Dick considered the following in choosing his thinner wardrobe:

- He knew that if he purchased an entire wardrobe that he would be leery to lose the remainder of his weight. 

- Clothing wasn't cheap these days and times were tough. Gas was more expensive than a gallon of milk. And a loaf of bread was even more expensive than a gallon of gas. Go figure. . 

- When he lost additional weight, he would need to purchase more clothing to accommodate his shrunken figure. 

In the end, Dick decided that he would buy clothing that was a good fit - but not too loose, and not too tight either.  'Just right' would allow him to feel good now, as well as continue to be comfortable as more weight melted away.

With that in mind, Dick headed off to the local market and picked up the following:

- 5 sets of underwear

- 3 pairs of dress slacks

- 1 suit jacket

- 5 dress shirts

- black belt & a brown belt

- latest issue of Hot Rod Magazine

As we can see, Dick kept his selections minimal.  Once he reaches his weight loss goal, he can go ape in the fashion department.

We are thrilled to report that Dick did just that.  He was faithful to his diet and went on to soar across the Diet Finish Line!
