Sonic Calories & Menu Selections

While there are many selections on the Sonic Restaurant menu that are high in calories, there are selections which can fit into most healthy weight reduction plans. We have listed in our data chart below, the menu selections which are highest in caloric values. It would be challenging at best to fit these into a calorie-restricted plan.

For example, one of the lower options is the Grilled Cheese Sandwich at 410 kcals. The BLT version contains an additional 100 kcals. Or we have the Veggie Burger with mayo at 510 kcals. When we opt for these selections, we don't have much room for other more nutritious food choices.

We'd do best by opting for the small Jr. Deluxe burger which contains about 400 kcals - and eating a side salad with our meal which is dressed with low fat dressing.

Tip: Take Along Healthy Add-On Items From Home When Dining Fast Food

On that note, all fast food restaurants don't offer low fat dressings - so be sure to go prepared. If I know that we're going to be stopping to eat fast food, I try to take along a small sealed bag of fresh lettuce leaves and slices of sun-ripened tomato. These natural vegetables add nutritional value to my choice - and flavor.

When losing excess fat, one has to make some tough choices. Fast food restaurants do offer a few selections lower in calories, but if one feels too tempted, it's best they stay away until they can face the temptation and make the healthiest choices on the menu.
