3 Ingredient, Quick & Easy Gnocci Recipe

The reason why our recipe is so easy is because we use only three ingredients. All can fit into most healthy weight loss plans and all are delicious and yes, quite rich in textures and flavors.

If you need a hearty meal on the table in 10 minutes or less - this recipe will likely be perfect for you and your family. And if you prepare the gnocci in advance and store it in the fridge, your meal can be on the table in less than 5 minutes.

The Recipe Ingredients

Walmart's Great Value Gnocci
Campbell's Creamy Chicken & Herb Dumplings Soup
Sour Cream, Regular or Reduced Fat

Quick Qnocci Soup Recipe IngredientHow to Prepare

As a note, the gnocci is found in the frozen section at Walmart. It's very easy to prepare. You simply drop it into boiling water, allow it to cook for about three to four minutes and remove it with a slotted spoon.

As it's cooking, warm the soup in the microwave.

Add about 1 cup of the cooked gnocci to the can of Creamy Chicken & Herb Dumpling soup. The gnocci will work wonderfully well, complimenting the soup because its texture and flavor is much like the dumplings that are in the soup recipe.

Allow everyone to spoon out their serving and add their own desired amount of the sour cream. My husband and I like 1 teaspoon of regular sour cream added to our serving. And when the serving size is this small, it's too little to worry over when it comes to fat and caloric values.

Reduced varieties of sour cream can certainly be used and the great thing about the reduced types is that on their own they have an off-putting taste and shiny texture BUT when added to recipes they mellow-out. At times it is challenging to differentiate the reduced from the regular varieties when used in recipes.

Serving Sizes, Calories & Nutrition

This recipe makes two very generous servings for 330 calories each, based on 1 Tablespoon of added regular sour cream. It can certainly be stretched to three servings as a starter course for your meal.

The soup contains 160 calories per cup. There are two servings per can. Each serving contains 8 grams of total fat with only 1 gram of saturated fat. Sodium is rather high at 790 milligrams, but unless the soup has reduced sodium amounts - basically all are high in salt.

There are also 7 grams of protein in each serving and a gram of dietary fiber.

As to the gnocci, it contains 300 calories per cup - so the 1/2 cup serving equals about 150 kcals.

Serving Suggestions

Both the soup and the gnocci are delicious on their own and are even more delicious when combined.

We suggest that you also serve a crusty loaf of bread with this recipe along with a side of lightly buttered carrots and green beans. Either milk or ice tea goes perfect as a beverage selection.

We hope that you'll share this recipe page with your friends and family members.
