Brown Sugar Pork Chops

While a big wad of sugar has the potential to ruin the most healthy of weight loss plans, just a smidgeon can go a long way in bringing out the flavors of food - particularly when that food involves pork.

Brown Sugar Pork Chops Recipe Ingredients

4 Thin Lean Pork Chops, the breakfast style chops work perfectly for this recipe.
2 Tablespoons of light or dark brown sugar
1/2 cup of either sugar reduced orange juice or pineapple juice
salt, pepper as needed

How to Prepare Our Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Place the juice into a skillet and then set the pork chops on top. Allow to cook on both sides in the juice under slow heat. If you decide to grill the chops, simply soak in the fruit juices before adding to the grill.

The natural fruit juices will flavor the meat as it cooks and evaporate amid the process. After this step is completed, season the meat with salt and pepper as desired on both sides, then sprinkle one half of the brown sugar on one side of the four chops, turn and add the remainder. The meat will caramelize after a short while under the heat and hold a lovely sweet flavor.

If you don't have any fruit juice on hand, then almost all varieties of jam, jelly, preserves or fruit purees will work nicely as a substitute.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders Recipe Ingredients & Preparation Notes

You will only need two main ingredients for this recipe: chicken tenders and the leanest cut of bacon available at the market. Opt for the thin sliced variety. Start by removing any fat from the chicken; add a bit of pepper if you wish - but you shouldn't need to add any salt as bacon tends to be rich in sodium.

Wrap one bacon strip around the chicken tender and secure with a wooden toothpick. Cook either on the grill or in the oven on a sheet of tin foil. Serve with a medium baked sweet potato dusted in a bit of ground cinnamon, a spoon or two of brown sugar and a teaspoon to a Tablespoon of reduced fat margarine. You'll also want to add a whole grain food selection to your meal such as a pumpernickel or rye (Russian, New York or Jewish) slice of bread or in dinner roll style. Now these are some mighty healthy eats!
