Building Blocks of Nutrition

While you are dieting if you are like most individuals, you will be quite focused on losing that unwanted fat. But there is something else in play - something that can assist with keeping that fat off the body, once it has been lost.

As time goes by and you continue to plan your meals and snacks, you are developing a habit - or a pattern for healthier eating. This doesn't mean that you won't miss some of the fattier foods in your former daily diet; those cravings will never fully go away.

All too often, once the fat has been lost the individual slips back into their former eating plan - consuming too many kcals and returning to the more lazy way of life. After all, they lost the weight once - and if they regain, then they can lose it again.

But when this cycle becomes a circle, things can get very aggressive where weight gain is concerned. If the individual continues the circle of on-again and off-again dieting, at some point they will gain too many pounds to make this method doable.

When one has 10 or so pounds to lose, it's still a headache - a very miserable situation. But when one has tens of pounds to lose, it is truly overwhelming. Many individuals think that the task is so daunting that it is basically not achievable.

The key is to never allow your body to keep gaining. No matter if you are currently in an overweight state - no matter how much fat you have to lose, make it a goal starting at this very moment to not gain any more. From this point, work to lose the excess and do such in a safe manner. The Food Pyramid is key to accomplishing such.
