If they jump for an additional fifteen minutes, they will have burned about 410 kcals.

However, because jumping rope is such an aggressive activity, it's difficult for even the most fit of individuals to continue for a significant amount of time.

For the individual who weighs 250 pounds - if they were capable of jumping for a total of ninety minutes, they would have burned about 1710 kcals. Wow!

Areas in the Body Strengthened by This Activity

The lower calves and thighs get a very good workout. It's also an aerobic activity which gets the heart to pumping, thus strengthening it in the process.

However, on a negative note - this activity is pretty brutal on the knees. It's also taxing on the back. If you have issues in these areas, speak with your doctor as walking might be more beneficial and pose less risk.
