Fat on the Booty

Written by Diet Bites

Do you have fat on the booty?  Take comfort in knowing that some people would kill for that big booty.  It's a trait liked and even adored and even coveted by many.

However, some individuals don't find it adorable in the least.

If this sounds familiar, then it's time to kick a little booty, diet-wise....

What's the best exercise for trimming down the buttocks area? Walking. Another great exercise for the butt is stair climbing.

On that note, find a set of steps.  Good.  Next, step up, then step down.  This works the area between the booty and leg, thus molding it to a trimmer shape.

Another old-fashioned exercise to help trim the booty area are leg thrusts. Get down on all fours, then thrust out the leg, upwards, carefully.

The Gluteal Stretch Exercise for Firming Buttock Area

Here is another terrific exercise that can assist in firming the butt. You'll be lying on the floor so you'll need something to pad your back to protect your spinal area as you exercise.

Basically you'll be bending your knees while lying down. You'll bend one knee on one leg, then you'll be placing your foot of the other leg in front of the bent knee. Then you'll pull the bent knee towards the chest area which will stretch the muscles and tone them.

Here are the steps to follow.

- Lie on the floor and bring your knees towards your chest area.

- Place one hand under one knee on the same side of the body which will assist in holding the bent leg in place.

- Take the foot on the opposite leg and bring it foot in front of the bent knee (of the opposite leg).

- Using your hand that has been placed behind the bent knee, gently pull the leg towards the chest area in order to stretch the muscles.

- Hold and repeat using the opposite leg.

This exercise will stretch the gluteal muscles and serve to strengthen the butt area.

Do you enjoy dancing? What about balancing? Both of these activities can assist in firming areas of the body. And when you are enjoying a particular activity, then it's not really exercise, is it?

Remember when you were a kid and you used to run until your tongue hung out? You probably rode a bike of some sort, played hop-scotch, had a hula-hoop, a pair of worn skates and you may have even enjoyed a game of tag or hide-and-seek. When you were a kid did you ever pause and think, 'I'm exercising'? Of course not - but indeed you were.

At some point amid our life's journey we come into realization. It's a sad moment; I remember playing with my dolls one day and suddenly something happened. It just wasn't the same anymore. I knew my dolls weren't really real as I had assumed them to be.

And things that I had once considered as sheer joy no longer appealed to me. Rather than running and jumping rope, I preferred to do other inactive things that fueled my interest. Oh - if we could only capture the innocence that we experienced when we were children, we'd all be healthy and fit.

I remember playing like I was washing dishes when I was a little girl. We didn't have money for fancy little-girl china, so my plates were lids used from jars of food that we had consumed. I had so much fun playing like I was washing those 'plates'. Then when my father started making me wash the dishes, it just wasn't fun anymore.

Our point is this; whether you enjoy walking, dancing, yoga - find something that you'll stay with over time that can fuel your interest and tone your body while you're losing weight. You'll not only end-up looking like a million bucks, you'll feel better, too.
