The Enormous Omelet Sandwich - What a Diet Wake-Up Call!

Burger King's Enormous Omelet Sandwich is so bad that they have been knocked clean off of Santa's nice list this year. This sandwich is so huge that it would fill up Paul Bunyon and his ox, Blue.

It's so nutritional naughty that it would melt the King's plastic mask off in light wind.

Take a peek at the contents of this big breakfast boy:  one sausage patty, two eggs, two slices of cheese, and three strips of bacon served on a sub-like bun for a whopping 700 calories, and 42 grams of fat.

But to be fair...most breakfast plates offered at popular breakfast-style restaurants equal or surpass the Enormous Omelet Sandwich when it comes to fat and calories.

And eggs and cheese do offer more nutrition than syrup and pancakes.

Take McDonald's Big Breakfast (or not) at 1,090 calories, 56 total fat grams, 19 of those in the form of saturated fat, 2,150 mg of sodium, 111 carbohydrate grams, 6 grams of dietary fiber, and 36 protein grams - and this is the basic meal, without added syrup for the pancakes or butter for the pancakes or biscuit. While we're all for getting essential grain into our daily diet - a stack of hotcakes and a greasy biscuit just doesn't cut the Diet Mustard in a healthy manner.

However, there are other very good breakfast choices at McDonald's for breakfast - such as their scrambled eggs as well as their oatmeal with fruit and walnuts; it's also served all day. And both of these selections are healthy and they taste great.

On the other hand, our recommendation to those individuals who can't live without the Enormous Omelet Sandwich is to eat half and share the other half.

The Enormous Omelet Sandwich is not only high in calories, but high in fat and high in sodium content.  It also contains a good amount of cholesterol.  Other than healthy nutrition, about the only other things this enormous sandwich lacks is fiber and the kitchen sink.

Or, opt for the BK CROISSAN'WICH with egg and cheese for just a tab over 300 calories. The sausage, as you can see on the nutrition chart below, will cost quite heavily in the area of dietary fat and caloric content.

Diet Tip: If you have a cranky, devil-type boss, you may wish to consider taking them this breakfast sandwich every morning for about a month.  That's about how long it should take for them to either blow up or achieve a Total Artery Block.
