The One-Stop Diet Shop
On a diet? If so, it may help in a tremendous way to turn your home into a one-stop diet shop.
Here are a few diet-wise solutions to enhance your weight loss experience:
The Kitchen: the Domestic Goddesses Kingdom
This is your Work Center and the most important room in your home when it comes to weight loss.
The ideal kitchen is a healthy, warm, welcoming area that appeals to all appetites. The key is to add excitement and to centerpiece that excitement around healthy foods.
Here are a few excellent dieting tips:
Grab a few clear containers next time you go shopping. Fill the containers with healthy foods that keep well such as dried fruits, nuts - shelled or unshelled, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds and place them about your kitchen OR group them together.
Or, if you feel too tempted with ready-treats on hand, fill the clear containers with dried beans, noodles and lentils for the healthy cook to use (YES, the healthy cook is YOU!).
A bowl or basket of fresh fruit on the counter is not only pretty, it's healthy and odds are, when a snack-attack hits, you'll be more apt to grab the fresh fruit than to bake a batch of something that tastes really yummy, but is crummy for your diet plan.
The Bath: the retreat for the Modern Day Goddess
Turn your bath into a spa. Containers of bubble bath, bottle of relaxing oils, and a cool eye mask are just a few items to enhance your relaxation experience. Bring on the grapes and dancing men!
The Bedroom: Balancing Energy for Productive Weight Loss Results
Avoid bringing treats and foods into the bedroom because your mind may associate the bedroom with a need for food. Reserve this room for a well-rested night, play time, and perhaps a bit of reading - but not particularly in that order.
While the emphasis is almost-always placed on activity when tied to losing weight, relaxation is essential and assists in balancing the body. Without rest it cannot run efficiently. Without activity, the body cannot relax efficiently. Both work to bring the body into balance.
Sleeping is just one form of necessary relaxation; if you enjoy knitting, sewing, painting, watch or clock making - then go for it! All of these wonderful hobbies can assist in keeping your thoughts on something other than food and drink. Your tummy timer will let you know when it is time to pause to refuel.
The Entertainment or Living Room
Again, use the basket of fruit idea for this room so that you'll reach for the fruit rather than a Diet Rattlesnake. Keep some packets of light popcorn on hand, or use an hot air-popper for an even lighter batch of popcorn. Spray with no-calorie butter spray and you're in Diet Heaven!
We've never been a fan of exercising machines that sit in the bedroom and collect dust - but a walking machine is ideal for the living area as long as it doesn't disturb or infringe upon the enjoyment of others in the room.
There are several noiseless exercise apparatuses that can allow you to work out and watch the television without disturbing others. Before you know it, the movie or episode is over - and you have completed your activity schedule.
The Great Outdoors
While you can get in your vehicle and drive to a hiking spot - or a basketball court or other sport's area, your backyard is....no further than your backyard. These days, there are so many things that you can do to turn it into a beautiful garden or mecca. You can use the area to relax, to bond with your family, or for activity.
Consider adding an inexpensive swimming pool; it doesn't have to be a huge in-the-ground pit. Swimming is excellent exercise and can assist with losing weight.
Add a grill - and again, it doesn't have to be large enough to cook the fatted steer upon; you can have all sorts of fun cooking healthy foods on a tiny hibachi.
