Recipe for Low Calorie Chili

Our recipe contains a perfect amount of spices and seasoning power because we're making use of commercially prepared ingredients and adding a few natural ingredients of our own. You will need the following to prepare this quick recipe - which can be made in less than five minutes:

1/2 pound of EXTRA LEAN ground beef
1/4 cup of chopped onion, any variety
1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 medium size can of Great Value chili beans - or your favorite brand
1 medium size can of Hunts Diced Tomatoes, Chili Style Variety

To prepare add the onion to a deep pot which contains the olive oil. Cook until they reach a translucent state.

Add the raw ground beef and cook until the juices run clear - but take care not to overcook.

You'll want your chili meat to be lean and crumbly and moist - not hard and overcooked.

Add a bit of water if necessary amid this process. I added about 1/2 cup to assist during this phase of cooking.

When the meat is done, add the diced tomatoes and stir. Finally, add the chili beans. I decided to drain my can of beans which worked out perfectly.

In Summary

This chili recipe makes a very large pot - enough for a family of four. It contains about 800 calories - yes, for the entire pot. The ground beef holds about 310 kcals based on 5% fat and 95% lean.
