Mississippi Diet Menu

We salute the flavors of the great state of Mississippi in our free diet menu with the focus placed on the great South.

Free Mississippi Diet Menu - Total Calories 375

Franks & Beans - Slice one lean frank (allow 110 calories) and 'fry' in a non-stick skillet sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray on stove top.  

Add 1/4 cup of diced onion and 1/2 cup of pinto beans or Ranch Style Beans.  Add 1 Tablespoon of catsup (optional). Top with 2 Tablespoons of grated cheese.

Serves one for about 275 calories.

Side Salad - 2 cups of the Following Mix - Field greens, shredded carrots, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes. Serve with Ken's Walnut Raspberry Dressing OR your favorite low calorie dressing. About 100 calories.

We salute the flavors of the great state of Missouri in one of our favorite campfire recipes in this free diet menu.

Free Missouri Diet Menu - Total Calories 430

The Great Pancake Supper - You can use boxed pancake mix, package pancake mix, a homemade recipe pancake mix or frozen pancakes - but allow 250 calories.  

Cook pancakes in butter flavored cooking spray in a non-stick pan over your campfire.  Remove and add 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries and 1/4 cup of sugar-free syrup.

Serves one for about 310 calories.

When we're not camping, we like to substitute the syrup with light whipped topping.

Enjoy with 2 slices of thin cooked bacon for about 80 calories.

Dessert - Enjoy one medium-sized peach for about 40 calories.

Montana Diet Menu

Montana - The Treasure State, The Big Sky State.  

We salute the great state of Montana with a free diet menu that centers around the hearty spud.  Filling, tasty and good for you - good for your diet.

Free Montana Diet Menu - Total Calories 375

The Vain Jane Spud - Top one medium-sized baked potato with the following: 1 teaspoon of real bacon bits, 1 Tablespoon of light sour cream, 2 Tablespoons of chili sauce, 2 Tablespoons of grated cheese, chives, 1 Tablespoon of Parkay no-calorie butter spray and 1 Tablespoon of salsa (optional).

Although potatoes are often marked off the dieter's menu, they are very healthy and actually nominal in calorie content. It's not until we start adding butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese and other fat-mined foods that the calorie count shoots through the roof.

Therefore, when decorating your spud be sure to opt for light, low fat and reduced fat dairy products. Keep the bacon minimal. One slice of bacon that has been cooked in the microwave contains a skinny 25 calories. Go bacon! Everything in moderation - that's the key, when it comes to both food and activity.
