The Magic Bullet is a gem when it comes to creating low calorie, low fat, filling slim shakes!
Once the ingredients enter the tube and the electricity gets to going, the volume intensifies into a delicious, light concoction that can fit perfectly into your weight loss plan.
Take note that low fat and fat free milk do very well when it comes to creating volume.
Another healthy perk for this low calorie shake recipe is that it contains a serving from the Dairy Group and a serving from the Fruit Group.
Entire recipe contains about 250 calories. You will need the following ingredients:
1 ½ cup of ice cold skim milk
2-3 packets of Splenda or Equal if extra sweetness is desired
¼ packet of sugar free strawberry gelatin (use the powder only) - or you can use regular gelatin if you desire
1 cup of frozen strawberries
8 Tablespoons of thawed LIGHT whipped topping (15 - 20 calorie variety)
Pour skim or low fat milk, sweetener, strawberries and gelatin into the Magic Bullet's long filling tube; attach the whipping blade and place onto Magic Bullet base. Whirl until thick and frothy - about 5 seconds.
If you wish, the gelatin can certainly be omitted but it does add a unique taste and texture - and it works well to thicken the shake. Pour immediately into serving glasses. Top with topping and decorate the rim of the glass with a strawberry.
You will need to fill the Magic Bullet a couple of times in order to produce entire recipe. Trust us - it's worth it!
Be sure to use frozen strawberries as they assist in thickening the diet shake. If you don't have frozen strawberries and must use fresh off-the-vine fruit, simply add crushed ice to the mix for thickening power. You'll need to use about 1 Tablespoon of crushed ice.
