Magic Bullet Recipe for
Cranberry Orange Wheatberry Sandwich

Written by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites

Our diet recipe for a tasty sandwich prepared with delicious whole grain bread.

Oh mama - this sandwich is the cat's-on-catnip-meow!  We've torched the flavor of cranberry by adding a touch or orange. The marriage of fruit has never been sweeter.

Grab your Magic Bullet and the following ingredients to create this quick, gourmet sandwich.  It's easier than those rice cereal bars - but we won't tell.

Magic Bullet Recipe for Cranberry Orange Wheatberry Sandwich

Load the following ingredients into your Magic Bullet using the small loading tube and then whirl for two seconds using the whipping blade:

- 1/2 can of whole cranberry sauce plus 1/4 cup of orange marmalade, then set this mixture aside as you toast the bread.

How to Prepare This Recipe

Toast the wheatberry bread by spraying with non-stick, butter flavored cooking spray - then place into non-stick skillet until golden brown. Spread this mixture onto toasted wheatberry bread.

Add leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, salt, pepper, thin slices of turkey and skim or low fat mozzarella cheese.  This sandwich is so gourmet-good that you won't even need the toothpick and olive - unless you wish to crown your masterpiece.

Sandwich Tips for Dieters

Sandwiches are a great option for dieters and are very easy to control where caloric content is concerned. Some of the biggest Calorie Offenders in sandwiches include full-blown Mayo, cream cheese which is typically substituted for Mayo in many gourmet sandwiches, avocado slices or pureed avocado, fatty proteins - including peanut butter, and fatty cheeses.

While all of these offenders can be a part of a healthy diet plan, some of them should be avoided during Diet Time or substituted with healthier versions. For example:

Substitute whipped peanut butter for solid-packed peanut butter to save fat grams and calories;

Substitute low fat and reduced fat cheese for full-blown. One of your healthier options is skim mozzarella cheese;

Substitute light Mayo, Light Miracle Whip, yellow mustard or spicy brown mustard for full-blown Mayo;

Substitute whipped cream cheese for solid-packed cream cheese and save 1/3 the calories;

While avocado is high in calories it can still be part of a healthy diet plan but due to those steep caloric values it should be enjoyed minimally.

Add a few thin slices to your burger or sandwich and avoid the guacamole which is generally mined with full-blown Mayo.
