Oil Based Salad Dressing Recipe

Use 1 Tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil to 1 Tablespoon of your favorite flavored vinegar. Add cracked pepper. About 60 calories for this low calorie salad dressing recipe along with a healthy dose of olive oil.

One of the most tasty combinations is balsamic vinegar with the olive oil. The balsamic vinegar contains only 5 calories per serving. All cooking oils that are a vegetable base contain 120 calories per Tablespoon.

A herb flavored vinegar can also be created by vinegar and herbs such as basil, dill, thyme - even mint based herbs such as spearmint. The process is a bit lengthy and involves heating the vinegar, pouring over the selected herbs - then storing for a time period so that the herb oils release into the vinegar.

Yogurt Based Salad Dressing Recipe

Thin your favorite low calorie yogurt with a bit of skim milk. Next, add a dash of a spice, herbs or flavoring extracts to compliment the salad dressing.

1/8 cup of pineapple juice plus 1/4 cup of orange juice
1/8 cup of white wine vinegar
1 Tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of chopped basil

Low Calorie Dill Salad Dressing Recipe

2 Tablespoons of Light Miracle Whip Salad Dressing
1 Teaspoon of Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 Teaspoon of dried dill weed
Reduced fat milk for thinning, if more is desired

Simply mix the above ingredients and drizzle over salad.

Low Calorie Fruit Based Salad Dressing Recipe

1 single serving container of reduced fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup of your favorite fruit nectar or fruit juice
dash of ground cinnamon
Splenda for sweetening
