Hamburgers, a lower calorie recipe

Ingredients for this low calorie, low fat recipe are:

diet hamburger recipe3 ounces of extra-lean broiled ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 Slice of Cheese (70 calories-optional)
1 Whole Grain Hamburger Bun

Sliced Tomato

Lettuce

Sliced Onion

Mustard

Catsup (optional)

Butter Flavored Cooking Spray

How to Prepare This Recipe

A hamburger is actually a very good meal. Cheeseburgers offer a bit of dairy, vegetables, protein and grain. Here's where the hamburger calories get hefty:

Too much meat. Extra-lean ground beef contains well over 1,000 calories per pound!  And that's for extra-lean, which brings us to our next bullet...

Meat used is not extra-lean.

Many hamburger lovers like to butter and toast their buns. In our recipe, we spray the bun with cooking spray, then toast. The butter flavor is there without the calories!

Mayo is a killer when it comes to fat and calories. Before I lost my Big Kahuna of Weight, I couldn't stand to look at a hamburger if it didn't dance with Mayo. And then I fell in love with mustard.

We get too friendly with the cheese.

To prepare our hamburger, grill the meat and toast the bun as directed above. Next, top with cheese if desired, then remove from heat and add other ingredients.

Hamburger Calories:One Hamburger contains about 400 calories including the cheese.

Hot Dog! A lower calorie free recipe for dieters.

2 Hot Dog Buns (200 calories)
1 Lean Frank (110 calories) split length-ways

Mustard

Catsup

Sauerkraut

Grilled onions

Hot Dog Relish

How to Prepare This Diet Recipe

Grill frank; place into bun and add fixings. You'll never miss the whole winnie. Before the fixings, two hot dogs contain about 310 calories - depending upon the frank and bun used.

Additional ingredients contain minimal calories.  A couple of Tablespoons of hot dog sauce generally adds about 40 calories.

Although sauerkraut is packed with sodium, keep in mind it's nothing more than pickled cabbage.

Diet Beverages Tips - Coffee

If you're a coffee nut like we are, these tips might be fun while dieting:

Try the flavored coffees; quaint coffee shops generally have holiday coffees throughout the year, based on the occasion.
