Low Calorie
Dinner Recipe
Fish
is one of the lowest-calorie foods that resides within the Protein
Block of the Official Food Pyramid. Fish also offers healthy Omega-3
benefits that are kind to the heart and that can even add luster
to skin, hair and nails. And fish is ultra easy to prepare. And
now for our low calorie dinner recipe:
You
will need:
- Salmon,
Flounder OR Cod fish (3 ounces per serving)
- Lemon
Pepper (located in the spice section)
- Salt,
Pepper
- Couscous
(locate in pasta section of market)
- 1/2
cup of mushrooms - any variety
- 1/4
cup of sliced onions
- 1 Tablespoon
of chopped dried tomatoes (optional but tasty as well as
beautiful)
- Cooking
Spray & Foil
Place
fish on foil and season with salt, pepper & lemon pepper. Bake
in 350-degree preheated oven until flaky. Prepare couscous
according to package directions while fish bakes. If you have never
prepared couscous - you are in for a treat. It's as simple to cook
as instant rice and the taste is similar to pasta - and absolutely
delicious.
As
couscous is finishing cooking, add vegetables to pan sprayed with
cooking spray and sauté until tender crisp.
This
low calorie dinner recipe contains about 325 calories and is ultra
filling.
