Holiday Dieting Tips - Choosing the Super FoodsAlcohol reeks in calories and has the ability to blow your diet plan to Uranus. Some tips to keep your diet safe where alcoholic beverages and mixed drinks are involved include: 1. Don't invite any Toms, Mickies, Jacks, Daniels or injured Mary's to your holiday party. 2. If you have a bottle of spirits that contains a worm, first, empty the bottle (no - not into you!). Next, carefully ease out the worm. Give life-saving mouth to mouth, then release the little bugger in your garden among the beets. Added plus? Your beets will be pre-pickled come harvest time. 3. If you do serve mixed drinks at your holiday party, try to limit the amount of salty foods that you're serving. Salt creates cravings for liquids - and when mixed drinks are part of the environment, your party could quickly go from merry to scary. 4. If possible, hire a bartender. They can assist in monitoring the amount of liquor that your guests consume without getting you involved. The situation goes from personal to impersonal - which is a great thing when you're dealing with people that you're likely to keep associating with. 5. If you do drink, don't think that chewing cinnamon flavored gum will mask the alcohol smell. 6. If you serve alcohol, make sure that kids aren't part of your party atmosphere.
