Holiday Dieting

Of the major celebrated holidays (Boss' Day Aside...) during our Golden Feasting Quarter, we have a Five-Star line-up: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day (line-up as in lining up to the goody table).
Most people that I know (including myself in my pre-diet days) put on an average of 10 pounds during these festive times of celebration.
Factor in Halloween Balls, office celebrations and dinner at Grandma's and we've suddenly blown out of one belt and into a larger size.
As for the jeans, laying on the bed and sucking wind just to get them over that new, unwanted beach-ball gut wasn't my favorite thing to do in the mornings - but generally necessary after those fun-filled days of holiday merriment. My unwanted gift.
We've got enough worries in trying to drop the current weight we don't need, and to maintain that new svelte size when we grow 'into it'. We certainly don't need additional baggage to carry around. BUT, this baggage is sly - like an uninvited guest.

Once you allow it into your Diet Safe House, it begins to take root, to get comfy, to tease and test you, and finally you are waiting on it hand and foot - running back and forth to parties, to office events, to church celebration socials, and yes, to Grandmother's again, packing on 'wanted goodies' and 'unwanted pounds'.
DIET TIP: "Plan for the holidays ahead NOW in order to forego unwanted weight gain - no matter what your current size is right NOW."
Keep in mind the above caveat that most people put on unwanted pounds during the holiday season - some more than others.
Rarely does an individual cross the Holiday Finish Line at an even keel in regards to their weight loss scales.
This is how I used to think, "I'm already fat. Who cares if a few more pounds are piled on? I want to enjoy the season, because it may be my last! Live for today and diet for tomorrow."
I was stuffing myself tighter than the Christmas turkey.
I don't want this to happen to you, our valued readers (see how nicely we kiss up?) so we have put together a smart dieting plan to help get you through the holidays with minimal damage.
Your goal - should you choose to accept this mission, is to wake up January 2nd weighing the same that you did on October 1st - before the holiday eating madness began.
