Meal Time Hour for the CavemanHas our modern day meal-time clock sprung a spring?
Have you ever noticed that right after lunch, a sleepy feeling tends to overtake you? It's totally natural and tends to occur after meal time as the body works to digest the energy that you've put inside. In the Good Old Days, the caveman & cavewoman had a schedule much different than that of Modern Day Man & Woman. Although they didn't have need to run to work, most of their time was spent running through over hill and dale in search of food. Although we have a clock in our Modern Day World that tells us that it's time to eat, the people from yesteryear were ruled by the sun, the moon, the stars and the sound of their tummies telling them when it was time to eat. Given the fact that most individuals experience a lull after meal time, perhaps late dining was popular in the age of the caveman. After a good story around the campfire (or around the rocks in pre-fire days) along with a tasty meal, it's reasonable to assume that the fur-clad men, women and kids tottered off for a good night's rest. In many countries, business shuts down for a few hours after the afternoon meal. Many individuals take the opportunity to catch a few winks of sleep, or to lazily enjoy a few peaceful moments. Taking time out from everyday life to allow time for proper digestion is quite wise. It's not only wise, it's natural. As to dining late in the evening just before retiring, many individuals might find that idea a bit discomforting due to heartburn, bloating, and other digestive ills.
