FDA Issues Consumer Warning for 'Toxin Discharged Tea' Due to Hidden Drug Ingredient
The FDA has released a warning advisory for Toxin Discharged Tea, a product which is targeted for weight loss.
Toxin Discharged Tea is sold online [or a more apt comment is 'peddled' online] and may also be sold in some retail stores.

This product may be harmful to health and should not be purchased due to the hidden drug ingredient of FLUOXETINE. This hidden ingredient was discovered and confirmed amid a laboratory analysis performed by the FDA.
Side Effects of Fluoxetine
Fluoxetine has received approval by the FDA and is in a class of drugs which are classified as 'selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors [SSRIs]. These drugs are used for treating the following health conditions: panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder [OCD], bulimia, depression and premenstrual dysophonic disorder [PMDD].
Side effects of SSRIs include:
- thoughts of suicide
- abnormal bleeding
- seizures

When patients are also taking other medications, ventricular arrhythmia or sudden death can occur. Medications include those related to depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, blood clots, chemotherapy, heart issues, and psychosis. Common over the counter medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen and other NASIDs can also worsen side effects and lead to sudden death.
What You Should Do If You Are Taking OR Have Recently Taken Toxin Discharged Tea
Report any side effects to your doctor and to the FDA's MedWatch when applicable.
Contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible if you experience the following side effect or conditions OR if you have concerns due to Toxin Discharged Tea:
- mood changes, thoughts of suicide
- difficulty breathing, pain in your chest, arm or shoulder;
- numbness down one side of the body;
- loss of consciousness or seizure;
- headache, dizziness, change in sleeping patterns;

- unusual bleeding issues, including those related to your monthly cycle;
- any other side effects which seem out of the ordinary.
