Constipation? Aches? Pains? What causes a Senior to go all Cranky Pants?Seniors often get teased about being cranky - and with constipation, aching joints and thinning hair we've got a lot of things to be cranky about. Several years ago, my husband and I were eating at a popular hole-in-the-wall, the Meer's Restaurant in Oklahoma, just a stone's throw from the Wichita Mountains National Refuge. This very elderly gentleman was leaving the restaurant with his darling little wife and stopped to whisper to us, "Order the peach cobbler!" He was simply adorable - and it was at that moment that I thought, "I want to be like him when I grow that old!" Here he was - perhaps on the very last trail leading to his final transformation, yet he was so darling, so polite, so precious. He was living life for the moment. And shouldn't we all? Having a positive outlook on life can do very good things for our health.Our happiness can also influence others around us, particularly those closest to us, who generally mean the most to us. When my dear old dad passed away, I'll admit that the incident triggered thoughts of mortality. And I have reflected greatly on his life, and have rewound and replayed so many special moments that I shared with him. These are just a few of the things that I loved best about my dad:
