Senior Health - Druggie Gets a Noogie

These days our good health has become more our responsibility than ever before. Many individuals are more versed than some doctors in areas of disease and treatment because of extensive personal studies.

And these days, many a good doctor spends more time dispensing medications than determining the root of the medical problem. Fact is, our doctors are overloaded these days. Many people run to the doctor with a simple sniffle rather than letting it run its course.


Trying to cut a common illness short with drugs can have consequences on our health.  Over-use of antibiotics may trigger medical issues such as:

- breakdown in immunity
- development of certain allergies
- infection by antibiotic-resistant bacteria
 
Although in many cases individuals require certain drugs to overcome their more severe medical conditions, it's a good idea to ask ourselves, "Do we really need this medication?"
