Weight Loss-Exercise & Activity - Do I Really Have To?

Diet Article: Ramping up weight loss success via healthy, moderate exercise.

Most exercise books and manuals on the market today have a barrage of photos supporting skinny individuals in skimpy, shiny, tight outfits. But you won't find those in The Wickedly Good Diet.

Sad but so, but 99.9% of the people who undergo an activity routine for weight loss fall off their diet. Not only do they discard their activity plan, but their diet plan as well. And although we have had this information with us for a long time, health experts continue to ignore the fact that most folks just don't dig exercise.

Of course, this isn't a good thing at all - this penned up disdain against huffing, puffing, sweating and stinking while flaying about. But as much as most of us dislike exercise, we must admit that without proper flaying about, our bodies suffer greatly for our neglect.

Exercise that reaches a sweat level gets the heart pumping to a faster beat and the circulatory system sings into a faster gear. Think of this process as a few musical instruments that sound okay on their own, but when all played together, a beautiful rhapsody ensues.

Tammy's Exercise Story

Tammy had started a new weight loss plan and knew that in order to stimulate the most out of her plan that she needed to add exercise. She'd seen all those shows on television - and the most driven individuals in the area of weight loss tended to embrace a heavy dose of activity.

Unfortunately, what she didn't know was that a few months after the television show ended, these same individuals regained a big portion of their lost weight back. Oh that naughty weight - it seems to have no difficultly in finding its way back home when we're not careful to manage our daily diet, doesn't it.

Back to our dieter Tammy. She decides to walk and jog for two hours every day. Her husband has agreed to watch the kids while she is exercising. For the first week, she manages well. Sure, she is a bit sore - but she is intent on seeing her weight loss plan through, even if it....well, let's don't go there.

Tammy charted out an area around her neighborhood for her walking and jogging schedule and at this point, she is beginning to notice so many tiny things. Like old Mrs. Nelson has a wind chime in the shape of a male goddess hanging on her porch. Every day, neighbor Frank makes it a point to sit outside on his porch and wave to Tammy as she jogs past his house. She also noticed that the Freeman's need to cut their grass as the dandelions are overtaking it by leaps and bounds.

After one more week of jogging and walking along with her reduced calorie daily diet, she screams when she steps on the bathroom scales. She has need of losing 50 pounds, yet during all this time she has lost only 5 measly pounds. After all that work - after all that sweating, huffing, puffing, waving at Frank, admiring Mrs. Nelson's wind chimes and sneezing as she zoomed past the Freeman's overgrown yard with the plethora of dandelions.

What the heck happened? At this point, Tammy doesn't care. She's ditching the walking and jogging and going to find her husband, Teddy and their two kids. They're going out for hot fudge sundaes.

If Tammy would have continued her pace, she would have continued to drop those unwanted pounds, Actually, five pounds of weight lost in the space of two weeks is pretty impressive. That equals about 10 pounds per month. In about five months or less, Tammy would have lost all the unwanted weight. Now all she can depend upon is that hot fudge sundae.

In Summary: If you have weight to lose and are pairing a healthy diet plan with an activity plan, choose an activity that you will enjoy - one that is doable. If you spend hours exercising, you're going to reach a breaking point which could place your weight loss plan in jeopardy. In addition, avoid wind chimes, overgrown yards, dandelions and waving Franks.
