Some of the school lunch menus below have the potential to contain 800 or more calories and a plethora of fat grams.

Because kids are basically confined to a desk chair all day, as well as to a desk chair after school due to being overloaded with homework, is it any wonder that the rate of childhood obesity has shot to the moon?

This isn't rocket science.

The School Menus - Week 1:

Monday: Pizza, veggies with dip, tossed salad, fruit

Tuesday: Nachos supreme, beans and rice, tossed salad, fruit

Wednesday: Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, veggies with dip, fruit

Thursday: Chicken nuggets and Texas toast, mashed potatoes with gravy, steamed broccoli and carrots, fruit

Friday: Hamburger or cheeseburger, baked fries, lettuce, tomato, and pickle, gelatin with fruit fluff

The School Menus - Week 2:

Monday: Cheese sticks with sauce or Hot Pocket, macaroni and cheese, green beans, veggies with dip, fruit, pudding

Tuesday: Taco bowl or crispito, Ranch Style Beans, corndrop biscuit, veggies with dip, fruit, and fruit fluff

Wednesday: Hot pocket or honey BBQ chicken wings, baked tater tots, baked beans, Texas toast, veggies with dip, fruit, pudding

Thursday: Chicken fried steak with gravy or popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, peas and carrots, tossed salad, fresh baked roll, fruit

Friday: Burrito or steak fingers with gravy, corn, tossed salad, Texas toast, applesauce, fruit, and fruit fluff


The School Menus - Week 3:

Monday: Chicken strips, baked potato wedges, glazed carrots, hot roll, pudding

Tuesday: Fiesta stack, meat sauce, rice, chips, cheese, lettuce, tomato, beans, hot sauce, muffin

Wednesday: Pig in a blanket, macaroni and cheese, green beans, fruit

Thursday: Cheese enchiladas, Spanish rice, beans, fruit cup

Friday: Pizza, tossed salad, golden corn, frozen fruit cup
