Tom's Fireplug Chili, a diet recipe for chili

Recipe Ingredients:
1/2 pound of extra-lean ground beef (or ground turkey)

2 Tablespoons Chili Powder

1 Teaspoon of Cumin

1 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic

1 Small Diced Onion

1/2 cup of Chopped Bell Pepper (Your favorite color!)

1 Small Can of Tomato Paste
PLUS 1 medium can of Petite Chopped Tomatoes
Salt, Pepper

Salsa (optional)

Brown beef with garlic, salt, pepper, onion and bell pepper in the pot. Add remaining ingredients. If chili starts to stick, add a bit of water.

This low calorie recipe contains about 1,350 calories and makes several servings. Divide total servings into 1,350 calories to determine single-serving calorie content.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with crackers, a bit of grated cheese, chopped raw onions, white or yellow hominy, warmed corn or flour tortillas or even drained kidney beans.

If more heat is desired, add a chopped seeded jalapeno to pot after meat browns.

1 small chopped onion

1 Tablespoon of chili powder

1 can of drained dark kidney beans

Brown ground beef with chopped onions in a deep pot. Add chili powder and beans and you're ready to serve.
