Salmon With Pasta Recipe, Low Calorie

Article by Diet Bites

Caloric Values, Number of Servings

Keep in mind that while salmon is very low in caloric values and an excellent source for healthy Omega 3's which can work to lower high serum cholesterol, pasta is on the opposite end of the spectrum. All macaroni contains about 200 kcals per cooked cup.

Easy Salmon Recipe for Dieters

If you're sort on time but are needing a healthy meal, pop a fillet of salmon steak into your toaster oven. Season with lemon pepper and black pepper. Coat lightly with olive oil if you wish - but very lightly. Bake at 350 degrees until done on tin foil.

Remove and serve with an array of healthy vegetables and fruits - such as slices of avocado and tomato as shown in our recipe picture.

Let's move on to our featured recipe for salmon prepared with pasta....

1/4 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice

1 Fillet of Salmon, Salt, Cracked Black Pepper, Lemon Pepper

1/3 Cup of Finely Chopped Onion, purple, yellow or white varieties - optional

1/4 Cup of Finely Chopped Bell Pepper, any variety - optional

How to Prepare the Salmon With Pasta Recipe

While the pasta is cooking, you'll want to also cook the fish so that they get done about the same time.

Season the salmon with the salt, the black pepper and the lemon pepper on both sides.

Place the fillet into the oven, or on the grill or into a toaster oven - or you can pan-roast the fish if you wish using minimal reduced fat margarine or zero calorie cooking spray [the butter flavored cooking spray will add a bit more flavor to the fish as it cooks].

Continue to cook until the fish is done and when it is cool enough to work with, use a sharp knife and cut it into bite-sized pieces. It will have a delicious flavor as the cooking methods we suggested bring out the oils of the fish.

Drain the pasta thoroughly when it reaches the desired state. Some cooks prefer al-dente while others like their pasta well done.

Quickly add the reduced fat cream cheese and gently fold it into the hot pasta. Add the dill weed, soy sauce and lemon juice along with the finely chopped onion and bell pepper. Stir gently to incorporate.

Transfer to serving bowls and add chunked of the pan-roasted salmon to the tops.
