Lemons Acidic Properties & Vitamin C Content

Fruits that hold acidic properties are generally high in Vitamin C content. One average size lemon contains over 30 milligram's of Vitamin C. One cup contains over 110 milligrams of Vitamin C.

The awesome thing about foods that are rich in Vitamin C content is that although they begin as acidic, when they are processed by the body they turn alkaline.

UTI's & Lemons

If you suffer from UTI's the body is less apt to succumb when the pH levels are in a slightly acidic state. This discourages the growth of bacteria which can cause a UTI infection.

A tip that might be useful in fighting a UTI infection is a supplement called D-Mannose. It is a type of sugar that clings onto bacteria in the urinary tract and sweeps them out of the body.
