Leg of Lamb contains 165 kcals. One pound of raw contains 1,043 kcals.
Loin Roast holds 175 kcals.
Rib Roast hold 200 kcals and the shank, 150.
The shoulder and a serving of sirloin both contain 175 kcals. If we move up to the prepared dishes, lamb stew contains 200 calories and is generally prepared with a leaner portion of meat.
Nutrition Notes for Lamb
Protein: Like almost-all animal proteins, it's an excellent source of protein. Three ounces contains over 16 grams. It is also void of carbohydrates and dietary fiber.
Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Sodium & Zinc - all of these vital minerals required for a healthy body are contained in lamb.
The calcium benefits are notable; three ounces contain almost 10 milligrams. Iron isn't as impressive, but there are healthy notes therein.
Potassium is quite impressive - over 200 mg's for three ounces of raw leg of lamb. As with all natural foods, it is also low in salt content.
Fat Content for Lamb
It's quite nominal when the cut is the leg. There are a little over fifteen grams of total lipids in a three ounce serving. Keep in mind that this value is based on a raw form and if additional fat isn't added, some of the fat will evaporate amid the roasting process.
Saturated fat is a tab over two grams and this type of lipid and Trans fat are the two most concerning lipids. Therefore, the majority of those contained in this cut are quite reasonable.
