Dieting? Check. Celery. Check. Carrots. Check. Grapefruit Juice - you bet!

If you're dieting you'll want to add grapefruit juice to your list. It's naturally low in calories, about 115 per eight-ounce cup even when sweetened with added sugars.

The vitamin C content will also work to boost your immunity while dieting. The last thing you need is to come down with a cold or other illness while you're attempting to get your body in a healthier state.

In addition to moderate calorie content, grapefruit juice will provide over 400 mg's of potassium per serving! Wow - that's incredible.

The Citrus Family

This tasty fruit that's almost as big as a bowling ball resides in the Citrus Family. Fruits containing Vitamin C not only protect you from colds and the flu, they also fight infection.

They also support dental health and a plethora of other functions in the human body.

It may also be helpful to individuals who frequently get kidney stones, as it may aid in making them pass easier. Stones that are over 1/4 inch generally require surgery, so if you suspect that you have a kidney stone, get with your doctor first and foremost.

For a very low calorie beverage during the warmer months, lemon juice added to water along with a couple packets of sugar substitute will equal zero calories.

Symptoms of Vitamin C Deficiency

* Skin issues such as rough, scale-like skin. It may feel dry which means damage has occurred to the cells. At this stage, it's time to add more Vitamin C-rich foods to your daily diet - as well as apply moisturizer to your skin.

Diabetics are at high risk for skin issues, including dryness.

* The body may experience bruising that would not normally occur.

* Fatigue, painful joints.

* The fingernails may be impacted and may 'spoon' or turn upwards on the ends OR they may have visible red lines or spots.

* The body is slow to heal.

* The hair may appear damaged.
