Garlic, an Inexpensive Flavor Booster

It only takes a tiny bit of garlic to boost flavors in foods, and it is one of the least expensive seasonings at the market. It's exceptionally easy to grow, too.

Calories in Garlic

Three cloves contain a tiny 13 calories. It's so minimal in fatty acids that it's considered as fat-free. But even little calories add up as one cup contains over two-hundred calories.  

It also contain luetin + zeaxanthin, carotenoids which work as powerful antioxidants in the body to rid harmful toxins which attack cell health.

Dietary Fiber in Garlic

One cup contains approximately three dietary fiber grams - but that's enough garlic to clear a large crowd.

Fat Content in Garlic

It's so minimal in lipid content that even a cup contains about one-half a gram of total fat content.

Other Notable Nutrition Facts

Other healthy benefits include calcium, Vitamin K and Zinc. It has a surprising amount of Vitamin C content - almost 3 mg's per three cloves & over 40 mg's per cup.

Another great surprise is the potassium content. Three cloves provides 36 mg's and per cup - over 500 mg's.

Like most raw foods, it is almost void of salt content.
