This menu entree is fairly low in caloric values and makes a nice selection when the dieter is in the mood for beef. The Gordita is also offered with steak as the star - and if you're not in the mood for cow, then they have a chicken version.
Other Version on the Extensive Menu
They also offer a Cheesy Gordita for just under 500 kcals. The steak and chicken versions are identical in caloric values and contain just under 300 calories. Therefore, other than the Cheesy Crunch entree, the other three basically mirror caloric values.
Take note that all of these menu selection except the Cheesy Crunch are offered as 'Supreme' style.
A Deeper Look at the Healthy & Unhealthy Values
The total dietary fat contained in this menu selection is quite low with about 1/3 of the total caloric values stemming from fat. This tells us that the beef that is used to prepare the food is of a leaner cut which is good news for anyone trying to lose weight.
We also see a healthy dose of fiber and protein in the selection.
As to the protein in particular, eggs are touted as a rich protein food source.
A large sized raw egg contains about 6 protein grams and 72 calories; it also contains 186 mgs of cholesterol, which is why health professionals recommend enjoying no more than one per day in the diet.
Cholesterol Comparison to a Natural Food
In comparison, the Supreme Beef Gordita's protein values equal about 2 large eggs but when we review the cholesterol values, there is a stunning difference with the gordita contains only 30 mgs and the eggs, almost 400 mgs.
The sodium content of this item is high but reasonable for a fast food.
To save even more calories and fat, it is available as Fresco Style which will reduce the fat by 25%. And when fat values experience a reduction, so do the caloric values.
