Taco Bell Ranchero Grilled Soft Steak Taco
Calories & Nutrition

Beefy Goodness OR 'Oh No!'

Whether your menu selection is Nutritional Naughty or Nice greatly depends upon the grade of beef that is used in the recipe in addition to the amount of fat left on the cut when it reaches the meal plate.

Because this taco entree contains less than 300 kcals, it leans more towards the leaner cuts of beef.

Do take note that it contains about 5 saturated fat grams along with one Trans and 30 milligrams of cholesterol. Ouch - but not out of line with typical fast food selections.

On a more positive note there are 12 grams of protein in the taco along with a dash of dietary fiber.

Building a Homemade Healthy Version

Start with the following ingredients to prepare a skinny version of the grilled taco with steak and a soft tortilla shell:

1 soft tortilla shell that is nominal in caloric values; the larger - the more contained therein

1.5 ounces of grilled steak seasoned with chili powder, salt and cracked black pepper. By using this nominal amount of meat, you can enjoy two tacos.

A serving of light Ranch dressing.

1/4 cup of chopped vine-ripened tomatoes, chopped raw onion, chopped cilantro

To prepare you'll want to warm your tortilla shell. Add the seasoned beef, the vegetables and you can also add a bit of reduced fat shredded Mexican cheese along with light sour cream and your favorite salsa if you wish.

Enjoy with a side of Spanish rice and a generous salad containing lettuce, tomato, cilantro and onion.

Once Upon a Time

If you have been procrastinating losing those excess pounds, you know good and well that they aren't going to vanish on their own. It's going to take some elbow grease and hard work in order to get them off.

And then the journey won't end there as you'll need to continue to monitor your daily diet plan in order for those pounds to keep away for good.

There is no perfect time to start losing; there is always another festivity or event that's right around the corner, just waiting to sabotage your plan.

Therefore, begin now while you are motivated to lose - and keep on track. Tomorrow will the day after's yesterday. Time flies quickly; we must take advantage of all the opportunities that life allows - and turn negative situations into positives.

And who knows? That one positive may mean the difference between having a full and happy life rather than needing a heart transplant.
