Nutritional Notes for Eggrolls

The great news is that most tend to be very moderate in calories. One fast food version contains about 100 kcals. Total fat is a tab over two grams.

This is a very good option to add to your meal plate if you are dieting. The protein values exceed three grams - which means that it will keep you feeling fuller than foods which are empty of protein grams.

Protein is known for assisting in keeping hunger pangs for long periods of time.

Because of the vegetable content, they will almost-always contain dietary fiber grams, which also work in keeping hunger away for longer periods of time, after eating.

Some brands may be high in sodium; therefore be sure to check the labels before purchasing.

Side Dishes That Add Health Notes

White rice is always a good side dish to pair with Asian style meals. It's such a versatile food and whenever a particular sauce or spice is added, the rice embraces the flavors.

A side salad of spring greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and either drained chick peas OR black beans goes lovely with egg rolls. Suggested dressing: low fat balsamic - and it's available in many flavors such as walnut and strawberry.

Be sure to add a fortune cookie to your meal plate. Not so much for nutritional values, but just for fun!

Pot Stickers, a Great Accompaniment

Pot Stickers are so easy to prepare! Simply roast your favorite vegetables in your big oven or toaster oven and add them to egg roll wrappers. These are generally found in the produce section of food markets.

Proteins can also be added to the pot stickers such as roasted chicken or strips of seasoned cooked beef.

Place the vegetable mixture in the middle of the wrapper, then form a little money bag. Seal the top by giving the wrapper a dab of water around the edges. Do a small twist at the top. Next, steam until done - and these get done very quickly.
