Mister cucumber is just one of your stellar choices while you are attempting to tell those unwanted pounds to jump off a cliff.

Sure - you've told them that before, along with their friends - but those pounds seemed almost super-glued to your body.

They don't want to leave you - and it's not because they are attached to you in a loving sort of way - rather because the fat cells which make up those pounds thrive on being fed on a regular basis.

They are much like yeast when it become activated. It swells to new proportions, only where body fat is involved, the swelling keeps continuing as long as the cells are filled with new energy.

Soon, layers upon layers of unwanted fat collect on the body - and in the most undesirable places - under the chin, the upper shoulders, the hips, thighs and abdominal areas. Even the fingers and feet grow a bit larger, forcing the individual to purchase rings and other jewelry in larger sizes, along with larger shoe sizes.

1. Single servings at meal time and no in-between meal snacking unless it involves a natural food such as a fruit selection, or a healthy reduced fat dairy selection - or a selection from the healthy grain, vegetable and protein groups that is minimal in caloric content.

2. Moderate exercise balanced with adequate rest.

These are the two basic rules of losing to one's recommended weight - and remaining there over one's life time.

As to our cucumber - it's excellent for taking the bite out of your weight loss plan. It's so low in caloric values that it is often on the 'free list' of many weight loss plans. One-half cup of slices contain a scant 8 kcals.

What other benefits does this super food hold? It's super rich in potassium; that one-half cup serving contains about 76 mg's. It's also an excellent source of Vitamin A. Need more calcium in your plan; then this super food can fill in the gap at 8 mg's per 1/2 cup serving.
